alligators and egg plants

Russ and I had some time off last week so we went to one of our favorites, Hilton Head. We were only there for 3 days and it rained the whole time. We did get to spend one cloudy/drizzly day riding bikes. This is what we saw a lot of....

Russ definitely got a little too close for comfort with some of these guys...

We also went to Loganville and spent some time with my family. Russ went to the UGA spring practice so my mom and I spent the day together and did this little craft straight off the cover of Better Homes and Gardens . This is a great magazine by the way.

We also went to the Georgia baseball game

To wrap it all up, we went to the farm to spend time with Russ' parents where it decided to snow (well, just little snow flurries). It was very cold and I was hoping my little plants in G'wood would survive the frost/cold. I was also hoping to come back after our little vacation all nice and tan...so much for that!

Now, back to the nitty gritty...doctor's offices and hospital work. Screaming, fighting kids that just love to see you. Shots, medicines, phone calls, needles, shots and more shots. But that's okay...this is how I can serve the Lord and make the most out of ALL the opportunities He places before me. I desire to show compassion and kindness to everyone I interact with even though I struggle with this. It's not easy...especially in this kind of profession but what an awesome one to be able to show the love of Christ. I hope this is the impression I leave on all the patients, parents and doctors I work with. This verse always comes to mind when I struggle...

Whatever you do, work at it will ALL your heart, as working for the LORD, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24
